Minimum Volume

0.5 mL (Note: This volume does not allow for repeat testing.) Red-top tube, gel-barrier tube, or green-top (heparin) tube

Patient Preparation: Patient should fast for 12 hours preceding collection of specimen.
Collection:

Separate serum or plasma from cells within 45 minutes of collection.  Complete clot formation should take place before centrifugation.
